A coffee table is often an essential piece to living room furniture, bringing a focal point to the seating area, and there are multiple ways you can go about decorating a glass top coffee table.
For instance, you could leave the coffee table plain and without decoration to let it serve its main purpose of holding items as needed, or you could use it to promote additional functionality or activities.
Add Functionality with a Decorative Tray
A decorative tray is a great choice because it not only adds to the overall appearance, but it incorporates an extra layer of functionality. Items placed inside the tray do not touch the glass top surface, and having the tray towards the center of the table top will motivate people to put snacks or drinks on the tray.
Leave a Deck of Cards or Dominoes
Whether you have a few minutes to spare or you are just relaxing in the living room with family, friends, or coworkers, you are most likely not going to go out of your way to set up a game of cards or dominoes.
However, if you place a deck of cards or domino set on your coffee table, you or someone else may take a look, become interested, and start playing a game with you or another person in your home.
Create a Stack of Self-Help Books
Another way to improve the look of your coffee table and reap benefits simultaneously is by getting some self-help books and placing them in a neat stack. Whether you find used books from a local thrift store, take from your own collection, or buy new books with the intention of reading them is up to you.
Although a glass top coffee table can be beautiful on its own, you can make it even better by adding to its beauty and mixing it in with some clever functionality and purpose.
